The introduction of a new packaging must be considered in terms of possibilities and benefits as well as cost of the entire operation. The process may be initiated by law regulation such as required product marking or usage of child-resistant closures. Marketing, promotional, rebranding aspects also matter.
Pharmaceutical manufacturers search for modern packaging, implement new accessories for dosing and applying, focus on containers which emphasize specific features of their products.
Many decisions and considerations have to be made at the early stage, mainly related to filling line, production process, specific features of medical product but also costs and time constrains. New product introduction may be completed within less than 2 months at very acceptable cost level.
How is this possible?
The most critical part is to define and understand client's expectations. It is particularly important to gather all information regarding intended use, filling conditions and other factors important for future validation. The aim is to avoid any disturbances and delays leading to failure of the entire project.

Modern design relies on realistic visualisation of a future packaging and high quality 3D-printed mockups. During this phase client’s expectations are verified. Depending on a project complexity, this stage lasts from a few days to several weeks. Client involvement and prompt feedback/approvals are crucial. Once one or more proposals have been selected, 1:1 models are created using rapid prototyping. Such technology allows to evaluate packaging functionality, compliance to closure or container, as well as to cuduct first tests on filling line. This stage involves the final verification and approval of a design, as well as the decision to proceed with tooling.
The concept of micro-injection molding technology is based on minimizing the costs of tools and manufacturing costs. Smaller moulds and smaller production lines are more cost effective. They allow to supply smaller quantities compared to big tools and big production lines.
The micro-injection molding method enables cost optimization thanks to significantly lower energy consumption, shorter setup time, more effective raw materials usage. Introduction of colour variants is much easier.
We successfully use micro-injection molding for manufacturing closures, dosing and applying accessories, measuring devices and other products. For more information please contact with us.
